Holophane Prismatic Alloy Bulkhead Lights.
Strong geometric, deco lines,
Another small run of these high quality bulkhead lights with Art Deco geometric styling (we sold a larger polished set earlier this year). These lamps are in pretty good shape, a couple looked completely unused with all seals intact and new imperial to metric conduit adapters provided for ease of fitting.
Originally a design collaboration between George Davidson & Co and the Holophane company these fittings are still in production today (and can be bought new with L.E.D fittings at huge expense) and are used predominantly as tunnel lights for the London Underground system.
The fittings consist of solid cast alloy casings which have been given a freshen up with a dark grey enamel finish. The casing has a hinged drop down front for easy lamp replacement (standard BC bulb) and contain the wonderful faceted prismatic 'Holophane Wider-lite' branded glass lenses.
Inside the original porcelain lamp holders have been carefully dismantled and re-furbished. An additional circular glass reflector aids the diffusion and reflection of the light produced.
