True antique school hooks are a pleasure to restore, we find it is often the smaller details which add character to an interior (poor quality replicas just fall short).

These chunky wirework hooks with rectangular number plaques are a perennial favourite, we buy them whenever we find a decent set. They are really substantial, designed to withstand the rigours of school life and are often replaced for more 'modern' equivalents.

Shown below in their 'as found' state they are then individually and painstakingly hand restored. We gently strip away many layers of paint (see pic 3). We then subtly burnish and seal the iron parts leaving what we believe to be just the right degree of patina.
